Trading Calendar Quarter End in Sight
Slight open lower yesterday quickly evaporated as the market engaged in its normal morning routine – rally higher and into the green before the market closes, and usually much sooner. The biggest risk these days tends to be a gap higher which has the highest chance of being faded and even resulting in a massive sell-off of sorts like we saw last Tuesday where the market was trading higher early on but went on to sell sell off over 40 points from the high point to the low point.
With the trading calendar seeing the quarter end today, the focus in the coming weeks will quickly shift to earnings reports and whether stocks are providing the revenue and earnings that can support the Trump rally that the market has been part of for the past five months.
In the mean time be aware that the market can get a bit quarky with quarter end as the funds will be doing some window dressing of their own before wrapping things up.
I ended up closing out two of my long positions yesterday. One of them was essentially a flat, but the other was a nice swing-trade this week in UPRO, netting traders and myself in the Splash Zone a 5% return on the trade for this week.

Welcome to Swing Trading the Stock Market Podcast!
I want you to become a better trader, and you know what? You absolutely can!
Commit these three rules to memory and to your trading:
#1: Manage the RISK ALWAYS!
#2: Keep the Losses Small
#3: Do #1 & #2 and the profits will take care of themselves.
That’s right, successful swing-trading is about managing the risk, and with Swing Trading the Stock Market podcast, I encourage you to email me (ryan@shareplanner.com) your questions, and there’s a good chance I’ll make a future podcast out of your stock market related question.
In this podcast episode, talks about when it is a good time to buy the dip in the stock market and how successfully buying the dip is really predicated on previously selling into strength. In this episode Ryan also dives into his approach for buying stocks that are perceived as being low, and why recency bias can get in the way.
