The famous Darvas Box Breakout setup is back at it again. 

But trading Darvas’ box breakout doesn’t mean you ignore the downside risk either, because if the market breaks down and out of the box, it becomes just as legitimate of a trade setup as the breakout would be. 

Last week, I had highlighted the fact that we were trading in a megaphone pattern that can often be a topping pattern, but with the recent choppiness of the stock market, the pattern that I had been following, instead, morphed into a Darvas breakout box pattern that I have mentioned. 

So watch, as we head into today’s open, for whether the market wants to breakout of the box pattern to the upside or downside. Futures are on the bull’s side this morning, but more times than not the market has taken pleasure in selling those gap ups. So be ready, and lets see what we can do with the market this week.
