My Swing Trading Approach

Looking to manage the current positions I have, raise the stop-losses, and curb some of my long exposure following the rally that we have seen this week.  

Indicators

VIX – More than likely, this indicator is going sub-10 in the near future. 

T2108 (% of stocks trading below their 40-day moving average) – 56% of stocks trading above the MA; that is a huge improvement, but still well below the levels we saw in July. 

Moving averages (SPX): Above all the MA’s now – follow the 5-day MA for short-term direction. 

Industries to Watch Today

Financials still remain a preferred destination of traders this past week, Bonds continue their struggle, bounce in technology not as strong as I would have liked. Some concern there.
