My Swing Trading Approach

Will look to increase my stops in current positions as well as lock in profits where needed. Likely to be careful about adding additional long exposure at current VIX levels. 

Indicators

VIX – Currently at a ridiculous 9.55, nearing its recent lows of 9.38. 

T2108 (% of stocks trading below their 40-day moving average) Now at 70%. Good indication that stocks are with this market rally finally, which hasn’t been the case always this year. 

Moving averages (SPX): Nearing a 5/10 bullish crossover.

Industries to Watch Today

Not much happening lately in the real estate sector. Watch Energy – hasn’t given up much ground, but could see it possibly peak here in the short term. Utilities showed signs of life yesterday finally. Financials and Industrials still the market darling, while Technology continues its coiling at the all-time highs. 

My Market Sentiment

Bull flag pattern confirmed on SPX, and received a small amount of follow through yesterday. Bulls could use a more convincing move, and more intraday conviction.
